For someone who has stayed in Four Seasons Place (courtesy of an expat parent), my heart would still go aflutter whenever I am brought to the gilded doors of Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong. My virginal stay was of course, bloody fantastic - my every whim and need was met with no complaint and open, smiling faces.
Indeed, this could very well be merely “them doing their jobs”, but the way they went about it was super discreet and very respectful. Anyway, onto the hotel - adjacent to the IFC Mall and a towering building that overlooks Victoria Harbour on one side and the Peak on the other, the location alone is already, top notch.
This being Hong Kong and this being the financial hub, the lobby is of course, a lot busier than the average luxury hotel lobby. Because this is a hotel that is relatively established, the design is of course, classic. The lobby is on the ground floor, with winding stairways, and wide, floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the natural light. In short, I didn’t find it in any way too impressive, but rather, anodyne - you know, the live pianist, marble floors, the usual.
Here I am, reiterating their excellent service - I was at first stranded because my room was not ready yet, but they expedited things by giving me a room with an amazing view, all the way on the 43rd floor. Check out the video to see the stunning view of The Peak!
FOR THE FUSSY EATERS
Just in case you have to miss your breakfast, the hotel is very happy to pack them for you in advance - you just have to ask. Of course, my vegan requirements were all met with no insult to my requests, in bona fide Four Seasons demeanour.
