THE LOBBY
Imagine going home - a home that is fit for the Getty family. The lobby of The Edition comes with a hearth, some fur throw, and lots of good-lookers. There are cocktails to be had around the clock, as you like it. Since the hotel is located in the grand Flatiron District, and was once a building that housed The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since 1909, it is hard to avoid keeping a whiff of that Upper East Side classiness despite all its super cool veneer.

THE ROOM
Small but cosy, I was put up in the guestroom where I could totally see the whole concept of oak floor, black metal, and monochromatic art come together. I especially loved the rainforest shower and the bathroom design of glass and white facade, and because I know you care - yes, they use Le Labo toiletries. All good, although, I could not really get behind the fur throw on the bed - like, what the heck? I detest to think how it has been treated by every guest, and how the fugginess of human breath and (god knows what else, insert yourself here) is trapped within.
ROOM SERVICE
Nevertheless, super friendly staff is on hand when you want to make a special request for in-room dining. I spent about half an hour on the phone dictating to them what I wanted, which could really have gone down in a much shorter time span had it not been for the loquacious lady on the phone. Alas, she still did not get my order correct, and did not endeavour to send the right one. Oh Well.

THE HOTEL
PS - the hotel is strategically located, and I loved visiting the park that is right across the road. the Clocktower is also next door, so you would get some touristy boxes ticked in no time. It IS one of the hottest zip codes in the city now, but I have to say that there was still a lot left to be desired, and much to improve. That said, I wouldn't mind another round at the Edition again, since it had just opened its gilded doors when I visited.
